In the last few years, there has been a rise in the demand for the steel casting industry. Increase in consumer demands for components in various markets such as mining, oil, gas, and power generating industries, agricultural sector, and other manufacturing industries, drives the growth of the global steel casting market.

Nuclear energy is expected to play a key part in providing for future energy needs. To help further develop this energy source, new safer technology like molten salt reactors (MSRs) have been much explored in recent years. MSR’s are a class of low-pressure liquid fuel nuclear fission reactor where the primary nuclear reactor coolant or fluid is a molten salt mixture.

When process conditions or aesthetics require the use of stainless steels over carbon steels, fabrication tends to face new challenges, especially if it requires welding.

3D printing and additive manufacturing have been gaining traction in the metal industry. Many companies are looking for new and innovative ways to not only prototype and test, but produce different parts, materials, and more.

By 2030 there will be over 200 million tons of hydrogen produced under the Net Zero climate change program. Hydrogen sales will generate revenues of over $400 billion USD, and also generate stainless steel sales for hydrogen production.
