ArcelorMittal US plates go into New York Bridge

ArcelorMittal plate mills in Burns Harbor, Coatesville and Conshohocken are to supply 160,000t of high performance steel to be used in the USD 3.9B New NY Bridge project.

The 3.1mi twin-span cable-stayed bridge is the single-largest bridge construction project in New York’s history, and the largest transportation design-build project to date in the United States.

BlackPearl contracts Propak for Onion Lake project

BlackPearl Resources entered into a lump-sum contract with Propak Systems for the engineering, procurement and fabrication of the central processing facilities for its Onion Lake thermal project. Propak has successfully constructed and installed processing facilities for three similar thermal projects in Saskatchewan, which are currently producing over 20,000 barrels of oil per day.

A new generation of special high air-tight sealed thread oil tubing and casing BGT2 product with high composite loading performance, which was developed by Baosteel, passed CAL IV grade test and assessment under the ISO 13679 standard.

KWG positive about chromite smelting technique

The Ring of Fire project proponent KWG Resources has stated that more laboratory tests have been completed in efforts to reduce chromite ore from its Black Horse deposit using natural gas. The company has commented that based on the test, they are “substantially encouraged” that the new method might be used to convert Black Horse chromite into a metallised chrome and iron alloy.

Proserv scores double contract wins

Proserv has secured two major contract wins in the Gulf of Mexico worth a combined USD 17M. The deals with Noble Energy and Talos Energy will see Proserv carry out work at the operators’ respective Gunflint and Phoenix Field Expansion developments.
