Fortune Magazine has named Fluor as the top-ranked engineering and construction company on its 2014 World’s Most Admired Companies list. This is the third year in a row that Fluor has achieved this title.
The most admired companies list is considered a definitive report card on corporate relations and this marks the 31st year the list has been published. Fortune collaborates with The Hay Group, a global management-consulting agency, to select and rank the world’s most admired companies. The list is compiled using a ranking system based on business practices, innovative spirit and social responsibility along with nine key attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness.
“This accomplishment is a testament to our employees everywhere who work to deliver complex projects in remote locations day-in and day-out on six continents around the globe,” said David Seaton, Fluor Corporation’s chairman and chief executive officer. “As a leader in the global engineering and construction industry, we strive to deliver cost-efficient solutions to our clients and profitable growth to our shareholders. It is a special honor for our company and our employees to receive this great recognition for the third consecutive year.”
