Freeport LNG series selects GE for LNG export project

GE Oil & Gas is providing technology and capital to help expedite construction of the Freeport LNG gas liquefaction and liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project in south-east Texas. GE is supplying the main refrigeration compressors, variable-speed drive electric motors and other electrical equipment for two customized LNG liquefaction trains, each of which will produce a base volume of 4.

Voith wins dam upgrade contract

It has been announced that Voith Hydro has been given the contract to rehabilitate and upgrade all the turbines in the 10-unit powerhouse at Grant County, Washington’s Public Utility District’s (PUD) Priest Rapids Dam on the Columbia River.

McDermott completes Chevron project

McDermott International has successfully completed the Jack and St. Malo project for Chevron USA.

The scope of the project involved the installation of jumpers, flying leads, subsea pump stations, umbilicals and subsea landing of some of the industry’s largest and complex umbilical end terminations to a host floating production platform in 7,200 feet of water 279 miles offshore Louisiana.

Shell fits last module for Quest project

Employees at Shell Canada’s Scotford Upgrader north of Edmonton, Alberta have fitted the 69th and very last module at its Quest oil sands carbon capture and storage (CSS) project. This brings the capture facilities to 70 percent completed.

Spanish EPC wins oil sands CHP contract

Azbil receives contract for LNG carrier system

Japan Marine United Corporation has awarded Azbil Corporation with a contract for the integrated automation system of LNG carriers to be deployed for a US shale gas LNG project.

After the carrier is built, it will be transporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) mainly from the US as part of the Cove Point project.

Plains to build pipeline for Valero in US

Plains All American will build a crude oil pipeline from its terminal at the US futures hub located in Cushing, Oklahoma and will run to Valero Energy Corp’s Tennessee refinery. This will help the refiner cut transportation costs to into cheap inland US oil.
