Incremental reductions of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions achieved through projects with additionality implemented by steel manufacturing companies is pooled in the organization, and thereafter steel products are supplied with certificates, in accordance with the guideline established by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).

These processing facilities are expected to be the largest nickel processing facility in North America and the largest stainless steel and alloy production facility in Canada.

The low-emission steel is produced using 100% steel scrab which is melted in an electric arc furnace powered by 100% wind energy at the ArcelorMittal steel mill, Industeel Charleroi, in Belgium.
