Timken purchases EDT Corp.

Timken Co. has purchased EDT Corp., a Vancouver company that makes polymer housed units and stainless steel ball bearings used in the food and beverage industry. The EDT line will join a portfolio that includes Timken housed bearing units, as well as house bearings that carry the Fafnir and Revolvo brands. Housed bearings have general industrial uses and are used in specialty markets such as food and beverage, mining, metals and lumber.

“We see this acquisition as an excellent strategic fit, allowing Timken to simultaneously build on the inherent strengths of the EDT team and leverage our expanded marketplace offering, thereby increasing our presence in the food and beverage segment”, said Chris Coughlin, Group President of Timken.
