One of ESABs brands, STOODY, has launched its brand new stainless steel joining product, Brilliant 308L T-1 CRYO. This gas shielded flux cored wire has been specifically designed for all position welding in cryogenic applications with either 100 CO2 or Argon/CO2 gas mixtures.
CRYO can be used to join AISI 304 in extreme cold applications such as construction and maintenance of liquid hydrogen and LNG transfer lines and storage vessels. Initially available in a 0.045″ (1.2 mm) diameter wire, CRYO exhibits a spray like arc transfer, easy slag removal and can be welded within a wide range of parameters. Classifications include AWS A5.22/A5.22M:2012 E308LT1-1J/-4J and ASME II SFA5.22 E308LT1-1J/-4J.
