Stainless steel filament for 3D printing

Washington-based manufacturer of 3D printer filaments, Proto-Pasta, has launched a new Stainless Steel PLA filament to their existing line of 3D printing materials. It has the ability to be polished or brushed for a brilliant metallic finish or left unfinished for a more “cast-metal” look.

Only two years ago 3D printing was limited to just two types of plastic, ABS and PLA, but now there are so many different options available. The idea of being able to 3D print metal-like objects with an affordable desktop 3D printer means the designers are now provided with even more options to choose from when coming up with new unique 3D printed ideas.
