IMOA publishes duplex brochure in Portuguese

The International Molybdenum Association (IMOA) has announced that the popular brochure Practical Guidelines for the Fabrication of Duplex Stainless Steels is now available in Portuguese in addition to seven other languages.
Duplex stainless steels are important because they combine good corrosion resistance with high strength and easy fabrication. Even though there are many similarities between the fabrication of duplex stainless steels and other stainless steels, but the high alloy content and strength of duplex grades help to differentiate the grades. The brochure includes information on the chemical composition, metallurgy and corrosion resistance of these steels, together with practical instructions for cutting, forming, machining, welding and other fabrication processes.
Dr. Nicole Kinsman, IMOA’s technical director, commented: “The duplex brochure is one of the most popular publications on the IMOA website, with some 150,000 copies downloaded since the second edition was published just over four years ago. There is considerable interest in duplex stainless steel in the oil and gas industry in Brazil so we decided to make it available in Portuguese in addition to English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. I would like to thank ABINOX, the Brazilian Stainless Steel Development Association, and Villares Metals for their assistance with translating and proofing the brochure.”
