Eurus Energy to build US solar power plant

Eurus Energy Holdings Corp. is set to build what could be the largest US solar power plant in California with a US partner. Split in the three locations of Sun City, Sand Drag and Avenal Park, the 45MW plant made with solar panels manufactured by Sharp Corp. will start generating power in June 2011. The USD 220 million project is equally sponsored by Eurus and NRG Group of Princeton, New Jersey and will produce enough electricity for 10,000 households, all of which will be sold to California’s biggest power utility Pacific Gas and Electric Co under a 20 year sales agreement. The project is Eurus’ first solar power generation undertaking in the US, according to the company that has operated wind power plants with a combined 1900MW generation capacity in six countries.
