GE to supply gas turbines for Sravanthi Energy pro

GE Energy will supply gas turbines to Sravanthi Energy for its 450MW power project at Kashipur in Uttarakhand. GE will provide four gas turbines along with associated generators for the Sravanthi project, which is expected to be constructed in two 225MW phases.

Wind farm for Idaho

Pavilion Energy Resources is constructing a 12 sq/km wind farm near Pocatello. Pavilion’s JV partner in Idaho, LA Wind, has contributed funds for the 80MW project and will also finance a future three-state slate estimated to generate 5,000MW.

Suzlon receives 218MW order

Suzlon Energia Eólica do Brasil Ltda., a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy Limited has received an order from Martifer Renováveis Geração de Energia e Participações S.A. to set up, operate and maintain a 218MW project.

Prophecy Resource Corporation and Pacific Coast Nickel Corporation have entered into a binding letter of agreement where PCNC will acquire Prophecy's Nickel PGM projects by issuing common shares to Prophecy.

Gamesa to supply turbines to Western Wind

Gamesa will supply wind turbines, with a total capacity of 10MW, for a wind farm being built by Western Wind Energy in Arizona. As per the contract, Gamesa will install five G90-2.0MW wind turbines on 78m towers in April 2011.

U.S. DOE guarantees loan for wind project

Grupo Bimbo’s wind farm underway

Saipem receives Sunrise EPC contract

Saipem has received an EPC onshore contract with Husky Oil in Canada. The CAD 1 billion contract is part of the first phase of the Sunrise Oil Sands project. Sunrise is an in-situ oil sands development 60km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta that will produce bitumen through steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology.

Spain to build massive wind turbine

Gamesa is leading a EUR 25 million project to construct a large 15MW wind turbine. When complete, it will be the world’s largest offshore turbine. 11 companies and 22 research centres that specialize in offshore wind energy technologies have come together on the Azimut Offshore Wind Energy project to garner the knowledge required to build a grand scale marine wind turbine with a unit capacity of 15MW, using 100% Spanish technology.

Emerson receives Comperj Automation Contract

Emerson Process Management will provide process automation technologies and services for Petrobras’ Petrochemical Complex of Rio de Janeiro (Comperj) in Brazil. As per the contract, Emerson will act as Main Automation Contractor for Comperj, delivering engineering services and technologies for process automation and systems integration of the projects refining unit, utilities and offsite operations.
