PAA to expand St. James Terminal

Saipem to construct secondary horizon upgrader

Saipem has won a new EPC Lump Sum contract by Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. The project includes the engineering, procurement and construction of a secondary upgrader with a production capacity of 42,599 BPSD (barrels per stream day) of hydrotreated gas oil, as part of the Horizon Oil Sands Project (Hydrotreater Phase 2) in Alberta, Canada.

Kinder Morgan-Valero pipeline to serve Southeast

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. (KMP) announced it will build and operate a new 136mi, 16in pipeline to transport gasoline, jet fuel and diesel from refineries in Norco, Louisiana, to an existing petroleum transportation hub in Collins, Mississippi.

Sasol plans natural gas to diesel project

Sasol Ltd. (Sasol) has set its sights on building a plant, at a cost of up to USD 10 billion, that would convert natural gas into diesel. Last week, the company’s board approved an 18 month feasibility study for the project, which would be constructed on land adjacent to Sasol's existing chemical facility in Louisiana.

GE to supply subsea systems

GE Oil & Gas has signed contracts totaling more than USD 15 million to provide subsea systems to Centrica Energy Upstream of Aberdeen for use in projects in the North Sea and the Irish Sea. GE reported at Offshore Europe 2011 that it will supply 4 SVXT subsea tree systems for fields in the UK Southern North Sea gas basin and the East Irish Sea, and one MVXT system for use in the UK Central North Sea.

USD 7 billion gas, power project

Chevron Corp. will likely reach an agreement with state-run PetroVietnam by late September to jointly finance and build a USD 7 billion project in Vietnam.

ConocoPhillips spinoff to close in 2Q 2012

ConocoPhillips (COP) expects to complete the spinoff of its refining arm in the second quarter of 2012. Under the deal, stockholders will receive one share in the new refining company for every two ConocoPhillips shares they presently own.
