Liberty Mines to restart Timmins operations

Liberty Mines of Toronto intends to restart production at its Timmins operations in Q1 2012. Mining and milling was suspended in February 2011 as a result of maintenance and tailings pond issues. The company has spent the last six months analyzing the tailings pond problems and will embark on a project to raise the tailings dam to provide an additional three years of capacity.

Bitumen refinery FEED contract

Fluor Corp. has been awarded a contract by North West Redwater Partnership to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for a new refinery project in Alberta, Canada. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value in the third quarter of 2011.

Fluor wins refinery contract

Largest solar plant uses Canadian solar modules

Canadian Solar Inc. has supplied 636,000 solar modules for the world's largest solar complex in southern Brandenburg, Germany. The company provided 148MW of the system's total 166MW to its two partners, Saferay and GP JOULE.
