The New York State Public Service Commission has approved a proposed 1,000 megawatt (MW) electric generating facility in Dutchess County, NY, which will provide more cost-effective electricity with lower emissions than many existing plants and improve power reliability throughout the downstate region.

Brazilian mining giant Vale plans to reduce its 50 per cent stake in the Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) steel plant project, currently being built in northeastern Ceará state. UsiminasMecânica has delivered three crude oil storage Tanks to Petrobras’ Abreu Lima Refinery (Rnest) in Pernambuco, Brazil. On top of delivering the equipment, the company erected the tank at the refinery in a consortium with Techint and Confab Equipamentos.
