Technip wins subsea contract in the Gulf of Mexico

newsitemExxon Mobil Corporation has awarded Technip a substantial lump-sum contract for the development of the Julia field located in the Walker Ridge area of the Gulf of Mexico, at a water depth of approximately 7,200 feet. The contract covers the project management, engineering, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of more than 48 kilometers of 10.75-inch outer diameter insulated flowlines, steel catenary risers and flowline end terminations. Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas will perform the overall project management, with detailed flowline design being completed by Genesis, Technip’s wholly-owned subsidiary.

Blawn Mountain project starts pilot scale test

Potash Ridge Corporation has commenced the pilot scale test work for its Blawn Mountain Project. The primary objectives of the pilot scale test work are to confirm the results of historic pilot plant testing, confirm the results of current bench scale testing on a continuous basis, process optimization, and to generate concentrate and products for material characterization and downstream metallurgical testing.

Shell lays keel for floating LNG project

Shell has laid the keel for Prelude FLNG, the world’s first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project. When complete, Prelude is expected to be the largest offshore floating facility ever built.

Monax Mining targets copper with gravity survey

Monax Mining has started a gravity survey at its Algebuckina Designated Project in northern South Australia as part of its alliance with Chilean copper producer Antofagasta. The gravity survey will take about two weeks to complete with drilling planned for the third quarter of 2013.

Azure Minerals has begun a drilling 24-hole drilling program totaling 9186 feet at its Cascada copper prospect of the Promontorio copper, gold, silver project in Chihuahua Mexico. This follows up on an intercept of 230 feet at 2.

Daybreak’s second well in drilling program

Daybreak Oil and Gas, Inc., a Washington corporation, has announced the results of the second well in the current drilling program at the East Slopes Project in Kern County, California. The Bear #6 well was drilled to 2,153 feet and estimated to have approximately 25 feet of oil pay in the Vedder Sand.
