Petrobras has awarded Subsea 7 S.A. with three contracts with a combined value of approximately US$1.6 billion for the construction and operation of three new-build flexible pipe-lay support vessels (PLSVs).

Skyonic Corporation has awarded Toyo-Thai-USA Corporation (TTUS) a US$117 million construction contract for its Capitol SkyMine plant in San Antonio, Texas. Toyo-Thai Corporation (TTCL) is providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to the project.

Shell to boost deepwater production in Brazil

Shell and its partners have plans to boost production with two new deepwater projects at Parque das Conchas (BC-10) and the Bijupirá/Salema fields. "Offshore Brazil is a key part of our plans to grow our deepwater portfolio – a key component of our global strategy,” said Executive Vice President for Deep Water, Shell Upstream Americas, John Hollowell.

Vale obtains installation license for S11D

Vale has obtained the installation environmental license (LI) for the Carajás S11D iron ore project, the highest-grade and lowest-cost project in the industry. The LI, which was issued by Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (IBAMA), is part of the project’s second phase of licensing, which authorizes the plant construction.

Subsea 7 S.A. awarded contract offshore Brazil

newsitemSubsea 7 S.A. has been awarded a contract with a value of approximately US$400 million from Petrobras. The contract is for the operation of the Pipe Lay Support Vessel (PLSV) Normand Seven on a day rate basis for around five years, with operations starting in the fourth quarter of this year. The vessel has operated for Petrobras for several years and is currently under contract with this client.
