Canyon expands cryogenic plant

Canyon Midstream Partners has entered into agreements with XTO Energy (a subsidiary with Exxon Mobil Corporation) and Apache Corporation for midstream services on Canyon’s James Lake System.

Canyon will be expanding its cryogenic gas processing plant in Ector County, Texas (also known as the James Lake Plant) from 70 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) to 100 MMcf/d by adding a 30 MMcf/d cryogenic turbo expansion train.

Blackspring Ridge Wind Project now operational

A subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles and Enbridge have announced that the 300-megawatt (MW) Blackspring Ridge Project located in Vulcan County, Alberta is now fully operational.

The project began in May 2013 and comprises of 166 Vestas V100-1.

Duke Energy to build gas plant in US

The American energy company, Duke Energy Carolinas, has announced its plan to operate a 750-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle plant. The scheduled location is the existing Lee Steam Station site in Anderson County, South Carolina.

Regency Energy Partners to construct NGL pipeline

Regency Energy Partners will construct a new processing plant and NGL pipeline at Regency’s Dubberly facility in North Louisiana. The project will include the addition of a new 200MMcfd cryogenic processing plant at the existing Dubberly facility, which will accept gas directly from Regency’s recently completed Dubberly gathering trunkline.

Vestas receives order for V112-3.0 MW turbines

Vestas, the global supplier of wind turbines, has received an order of 148 MW from First Wind, the independent North American Energy Company, for its V112-3.0 MW turbines in the US. The wind farm project, Oakfield Wind, is to be located in Maine’s Aroostook County.

Joint venture on Griffith Iron Ore mine

Northern Iron Corporation and Danieli Centro Metallics have entered into a joint venture to develop the Griffith Iron Ore mine, which has been a big producer in the past. Northern Iron, the Canadian junior miner has enlisted Danieli, the plant and equipment supplier for the steel industry, as its technological partner for marketing and promoting the project to possible partners, financiers and final product off-takers.
