Fluor awarded DOE contract

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) awarded Fluor with a three-year contract for the next phase cleanup at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP) in Paducah, Kentucky. Fluor is the prime contractor for the management, integration and execution of the deactivation and post-GDP shutdown remediation activities at the Paducah site.

Enlink to add pipeline & storage to Utica Shale

Alstrom Wind Tower Factory in Brazil turns 1

Exactly one year ago, Alstom inaugurated its first wind tower factory in Latin America, located in the city of Canoas. The unit received about EUR 9.85M in investments and has a production capacity of 120 steel towers a year, which is equivalent to 350MW of power production.

Linde opens Houston petrochemical office

The technology company, The Linde Group, has added a petrochemical plant business unit to its already existing engineering division offices in Houston.

Enbridge pipeline to operate in Oct.

Enbridge has announced that in October, The Seaway Twin will be filled with Canadian oil sands crude from its new 600,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Flanagan South Pipeline. The crude will be brought to North America’s largest refining complex on the US Gulf Coast.

Sunoco starts open season for Texas project

It has been announced that SunVit Pipeline LLC, Sunoco Pipeline L.P. and ExxonMobil Pipeline Company are starting a bidding open season for a project located in the Permian Longview and Louisiana Extension.

Biofuels Power Corp. building GTL plant in Houston

Biofuels Power Corporation has signed a letter of intent with ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions and Liberty GTL to construct a small-scale gas-to-liquid (GTL) demonstration facility in Houston, Texas.

All parties have pinpointed a non-binding target date to finish commissioning of the GTL Pilot Plant on or before December 31, 2014.

Enterprise & Arkema enter propylene agreement

The French company, Arkema, has reached a deal with Enterprise Products Partners, the American midstream energy company, for the supply of propylene.

As a result of the development of shale gas currently taking place in the United States, the contract secures a long-term supply (over a decade) of propylene produced by propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and will strengthen the competitiveness of the coating solutions segment.

Kinder Morgan expanding KMCC system in Texas

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners will invest approximately $54 million to build an interconnect and other facilities for its Kinder Morgan Crude and Condensate (KMCC) pipeline after entering into a long-term transportation agreement with Republic Midstream Marketing, LLC.

Tesoro plans petrochemical feedstock project

Tesoro Corporation announced plans to produce petrochemical feedstock in its U.S. West Coast refining system. The company intends to gather intermediate feedstock, primarily reformate, from its West Coast refining system for xylene extraction at Anacortes, Washington.
