Magnetation produces concentrate at new plant

Magnetation successfully produced its first iron ore concentrate at its new Plant Four, located near Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Magnetation said the new plant has begun operations one quarter ahead of schedule and three quarters ahead of the original project schedule.

AMECO opens new global headquarters

Fluor Corporation has announced that AMECO, its tool and equipment unit, has recently opened its new global headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.
Fluor designed and engineered the new LEED-certified space that features collaborative working space and the latest technology.

Tamazunchale pipeline extension now operational

TransCanada Corporation has placed into service the Tamazunchale Pipeline Extension, the most recent natural gas infrastructure project to be completed by TransCanada in Mexico.

"The completion of the Tamazunchale Pipeline Extension marks another milestone in our decade-long commitment to building new energy infrastructure in Mexico,” said Russ Girling, TransCanada's president and CEO.

ABB technology for Klabin’s giant pulp mill

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, will supply gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) technology-based 34.5kV power distribution system for Klabin’s major new pulp mill being constructed in Ortigueira (Paraná State), Brazil.

Energy east pipeline project files NEB application

TransCanada Corporation has filed a project application for the Energy East Pipeline Project with the National Energy Board of Canada (NEB). "Energy East will eliminate the need for Eastern Canada to import most of the 700,000 barrels it consumes everyday," said Russ Girling, TransCanada's president and CEO.

Qatargas JBOG project uses stainless

The company that helped launch the LNG industry in Qatar, Qatargas, has safely started up the Jetty Boil-off Gas Recovery (JBOG) Project in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

The project, which cost approximately $1billion, is designed to eliminate flaring at the LNG Terminal.

Wood Group hires new manager for pipeline

Wood Group Mustang has appointed Harold Kraft to the newly created position of Manager, Pipeline, Canadian region.

Kraft’s mandate is to manage the Calgary-based Pipeline group, a new addition to Wood Group Mustang’s Canadian operations, comprising of about 70 professionals with specialized pipeline expertise dealing with associated metals such as carbon steel and stainless steel.

The Fluor Corporation has recently completed the Ferguson Replacement Project, a high-efficiency combined-cycle power plant located in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
