GPM introduced new grades of lashing wire
General Machine Products Company, Inc. (GMP), based in Trevose, Pennsylvania, recently introduced three grades of Stainless Steel Lashing Wire. Stainless Steel Lashing Wire is loaded into cable lashing machines (or spinners) and used to spirally wind or ‘lash’ telephone, power and multi-media cable to a supporting messenger strand between utility poles.
National Grid stainless steel pipes and pumps
Following a refurbishment of the tunnel some 70 m below the first Severn Bridge, connecting a vital National Grid energy cable from England to Wales, National Grid has been busy working towards the best possible solution for automated control of the tunnel’s pumping system and vibration reduction in the pipework.
Outokumpu delivers duplex for oil tank storage

Airbus, with manufacturing facilities in North & South America, in partnership with Messier Bugatti Dowty, Carpenter Technology and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at the University of Sheffield, are developing the maturity of a new corrosion-resistant stainless steel alloy known as “CRES” – for possible use in future landing gear components.
Outokumpu delivers large duplex stainless order
Outokumpu, a global supplier of stainless steel, with branches in North and South America, recently delivered one of the largest orders for tank building to the Antwerp harbor in Belgium. The order consisted of 245 tons of Forta LDX 2101 lean duplex stainless steel for the construction of three big oil storage tanks.
