Winters introduces new pressure transmitters

New stainless steel flat air nozzle

Ohio-based Exair has introduced a new 1” High Power Stainless Steel Flat Super Air Nozzle. The product produces a flat 25mm wide airstream with a strong blowing force of 462g once it is mounted approximately 305mm from its target.

Solvay acquires Ryton PPS business

The Belgian chemical company, Solvay Specialty Polymers, has signed a deal to buy the Ryton PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) business from the American petrochemical company Chevron Phillips Chemical. The agreement is for an estimated USD $220 million.

Steel imports up in first half

Data from the Commerce Department is showing that for the first six months of 2014, total US imports hit 20.9 million net tons, which is a 33 percent increase from the first half of 2013. Finished steel imports totalled 15.

EOS launches new metals for additive manufacturing

EOS, the company that creates design-driven industrial additive manufacturing solutions, has expanded its metals portfolio with two new metals. The first is EOS Titanium Ti64ELI, which is a light metal alloy that is both corrosion resistant and biocompatible.

NanoSteel grants licenses for steel coating tech

NanoSteel has granted Lincoln Electric an exclusive worldwide license to the company’s proprietary steel coatings technology for weld overlay and thermal spray applications. This agreement expands Lincoln Electric’s range of wear resistant products, which complement the company’s core arc welding, cutting and automation solutions.

Type approvals for Victaulic vic-press system

Victaulic, the manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, has received type approvals from American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Korean Register and Lloyd’s Register for Vic-Press, a flame-free press system for joining small-diameter stainless steel pipe.
