ACCIONA Energy has begun construction on its 132MW Dempsey Ridge Wind Farm in Oklahoma. The farm will be situated 15 miles west of the company’s 123MW Red Hills Wind Farm in Roger Mills County. The firm has contracted MA Mortensen to lead the construction of the plant, which will consist of 66 wind turbines, spread out over 44km² of rural area. The Dempsey facility will generate enough electricity to power 46,000 homes in Oklahoma and the surrounding states, reducing CO2 emissions by 339,000mt every year. Completion of the plant is set for January 2012.
