Raytheon Professional Services LLC (RPS), a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, announced that Michael Ross, a graduate of the automotive apprenticeship program run by RPS for Vauxhall Motors, was recognized for his outstanding achievements in the IMI Awards, the U.K. Institute of the Motor Industry’s annual competition. Already the winner of Vauxhall’s Apprentice of the Year Award in 2011, Ross won the most fiercely contested category in the 2012 IMI Awards: the Outstanding Technical Student – Light Vehicle category. “We are proud that Raytheon’s apprenticeship program helps create this level of skilled automotive professionals,” said David Marriott, RPS U.K. apprenticeship program director. “Outstanding individuals like Michael Ross, whom we congratulate, are essential to maintaining high quality automotive services in the U.K.” After completing the apprenticeship program and achieving Service Technician Silver status, Ross will continue developing his technical expertise by working toward Gold status.
