Lapham-Hickey Acquires Crystal Steel Assets

Lapham-Hickey Steel Corporation is pleased to announce that they have acquired the operating assets of Crystal Steel Corporation.

Crystal Steel is a distributor of carbon steel coil products located in Middleton, Massachusetts. The company was founded in 1979 by John Diamont, who for the past 45 years has grown Crystal Steel into a leading distributor of hot roll, cold roll, and coated slit coil in the New England market.

Lapham-Hickey will be transitioning the Crystal equipment, inventory and customer service into the  Pawcatuck, Connecticut location. Bob Edelstein, GM of Crystal Steel, will be joining the Lapham-Hickey team as a territory manager.

Lapham-Hickey Steel is a 4th generation family-owned and operated full-line steel service center founded in 1926 and headquartered in Bedford Park, IL. With 13 total locations throughout the Midwest, East Coast, Southeast, and Mexico, Lapham-Hickey is an industry-leading supplier of slit coil, sheet, plate, electrical steels, hardened and tempered, bars, tubing and fabricated products.
