Wood Group to acquire Elkhorn Holdings

Last week it was announced that Wood Group, the international energy services company, will acquire Elkhorn Holdings, a Wyoming-based provider of construction services for midstream oil and gas facilities in the US shale market.
In 2012, Elkhorn reported sales of approximately $250 million.

Its 2,200 personnel assist in infrastructure-related services such as pipeline and facility maintenance, instrumentation and electrical, civil and mechanical construction. Elkhorn will still be led by its existing management team under the direction of CEO Sean Sullivan, as the company further develops Wood Group’s US shale business.
The deal is subject to a number of conditions including an anti-trust approval in the US.

“Elkhorn is an important part of our US shale strategy and will expand our service portfolio for our US onshore customers,” declared Robin Watson, chief executive of Wood Group PSN. “The acquisition of
Elkhorn’s services and geographic presence are complementary to Wood Group PSN’s existing shale business. Following the acquisition of Elkhorn, Wood Group PSN will have around 4,500 US shale-focused personnel.”
