West Star Aviation increases accessory capabilities

The Columbia, South Carolina (CAE) location of West Star Aviation has recently added accessory shop capabilities. The new shop became fully operational this past April. The company is already planning another all new accessory shop at their East Alton, Illinois (ALN) location during the fourth quarter of this year.

The new CAE shop now offers starter-generator repair/overhaul and testing, lear jet components repair, inspection and overhaul, King Air landing gear inspection and overhaul, full non-destructive testing (NDT) capabilities for magnetic particle inspection and welding for aluminum, stainless steel and all nickel alloys. The new accessory shop also offers capacity testing for batteries, nickel cadmium, lead acid, sealed lead acid, as well as repair and testing for emergency power supplies.

Once operational, the new ALN shop will focus on providing extensive services for aircraft wheels, adding battery capabilities before the end of 2014. Moving forward, ALN plans to expand their offerings to include brakes services as well.
