Welding machine for remote locations

Lincoln Electric has released the new Big Red 500, for welding in remote locations and under extreme conditions. This 500amp engine-driven welder/generator is specifically designed to deliver consistent stick, TIG and arc gouging for outdoor construction, maintenance and repair applications. To maintain reliability in jungles, deserts and other extreme environments, the Big Red 500 includes no PC boards, but instead is built using reactor technology and the 3-cylinder Deutz D2011L3i oil/air-cooled industrial diesel engine. The 32 H.P. 1800rpm engine is EPA Tier 4i rated and includes protection for low oil pressure and high temperatures. The machine is constructed with a heavy gauge steel base, frame, case sides and roof, resulting in an IP23 enclosure rating. The Big Red 500 offers 500 amps for high-output DC stick and DC TIG welding, as well as up to 8mm carbon arc gouging. This engine-driven welder / generator is Desert Duty Rated, providing rated welding outputs for extreme temperature operation up to 55?C. The Big Red 500 also features versatile receptacle connections for 60 Hz AC generator power, allowing for the operation of common construction tools.
