Ulbrich Specialty Strip Mill (USSM) was awarded its ISO 14001:2015 certification last year. After one full year with the certification, Ulbrich was audited and passed with zero findings. The ISO 14001 is the International Organization for Standardizations protocol for meeting specific requirements for an effective environmental management system. The full process for this certification took nearly a year to complete however, Ulbrichs commitment to environmental responsibility has been in effect for much longer. The companys success was greatly due to these efforts being a part of the daily routine at Ulbrich, and the strength of Ulbrich employees as a team; all of whom exceeded expectations throughout the process. Ulbrichs knowledge and practical implementation of the ISO standard, as well as its environmental practices contributed to earning this accreditation.
This certification was acquired after an extensive, six-day auditing process which consisted of environmental performance, procedures, employee interviews, management commitment and continuous improvement, where it is our duty to go beyond the environmental performance standards.
Ulbrichs role in preserving the environment and maintaining high standards for such is an ongoing effort. This is a major part of the continuous improvement phase and allows the company to play an active role in being a truly environmentally responsible company. Their ISO 14001 certification is a testament to Ulbrichs total quality commitment and continuous professional development.
This accreditation is in addition to Ulbrichs long list of demanding industry certifications.
