U.S. Steel VP retiring

It has been announced that after being with United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) for 31 years, the Vice President and Controller, Mr. Gregory A. Zovko, will be retiring as of June 30, 2014. It has not yet been announced who will take over his position.

Zovko joined U.S. Steel in 1983 as an accounting and finance management associate. Over the years he became responsible for more senior duties and financial staff positions. In 2008 he was appointed as vice president of accounting and in 2009 he was also named controller. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in tax administration from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is also a certified public accountant.

U.S. Steel is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa. and is an integrated steel producer with major production operations in the United States, Canada and Central Europe. The company specializes in a wide range of value-added steel sheet and tubular products for a variety of industries such as oil & gas.
