Ternium and Petrobras Sign a Contract for the Supply of Natural Gas in the Free Market in Rio de Janeiro

Ternium and Petrobras have signed a contract for the supply of natural gas in the free trading environment to serve Ternium unit located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The agreement marks Ternium’s transition from the captive market to the free market in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with firm natural gas supply provided by Petrobras and distribution by Naturgy.

Petrobras and Ternium establish their first commercial relationship, partnering in the free natural gas market, focusing on developing solutions for enabling an open, competitive, transparent, sustainable, and increasingly developed trading environment in the country.

The companies also intend to develop other partnerships and synergies involving businesses in the natural gas sector, aligned with the decarbonization agenda of the steel industry.
