Tenaris Debuts Consteel® Technology For Cleaner Steelmaking In Argentina

The first casting of the new Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) was successfully completed at the steelshop, marking a pivotal moment for Tenaris. The EAF, equipped with Consteel® technology, will reduce CO2 emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and increase production—a significant step towards cleaner steel production.

The complexity of the project demanded months of hard work and collaboration between Tenaris, Tenova and Techint Engineering & Construction.

With a production capacity of 950,000 tons of liquid steel for seamless pipe manufacturing, the new Consteel® EAF has replaced one of the two existing EAF units at the Siderca steelshop.
