Technip wins Brazil fertilizer complex contract

Technip, within the framework of a cooperation partnership with Haldor Topsoe, has received a contract to provide basic and front end engineering services on a Petrobras grassroots fertilizer complex to be located at Uberaba – State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Upon completion, the fertilizer complex will comprise a 1500 metric tons per day ammonia unit using Haldor Topsoe technology, and the complete utilities and offsites systems necessary for the operation of the complex. Haldor Topsoe and Technip will develop the basic engineering design at its operating center in Rome, Italy while the front end engineering design will be executed at the Technip operating center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The overall engineering activities are scheduled for completion within the first half of 2012. Scheduled to be in operation within the second semester of 2015, the complex will contribute to the reduction of Brazil’s dependence on ammonia import.
