Tank fabricator expanding

North American Tank, located in the Springfield region of Missouri is planning to expand and create 30 new jobs in the process. It is expecting to get help from a state program.

The company is a manufacturer of custom stainless steel and aluminum tanks and expects that it will have to invest approximately $200,000 to accommodate its growth. North American Tank makes truck-mount tanks, such as custom and special purpose tanks, tank components and tank trailers, which are in high demand. The company has already purchased and is planning to renovate a neighbouring building next to its existing facility. The new building will help to accommodate additional bays.

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce economic development staff worked with Ozark city leaders to help the company obtain incentives from the Missouri Works program and to provide needed infrastructure improvements. The chamber and the city wanted to make sure the company didn’t move out of Ozark. The company can benefit from the state program only if it meets “strict job creation and investment criteria,” according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

“Ozark is home to a technically-skilled workforce that has allowed North American Tank to manufacture the type of high-quality product that our customers have grown to expect,” said Jim Mohan, president of North America Tank. “Expanding here means increasing hiring, increasing production, and increasing opportunities for North American Tank.”
