Suncor Stainless has recently announced their newly developed line of 23 forged swivels, which meet Federal Specification RR-C-271F Type VII (excluding 316 stainless steel). These swivels offer added strength while still maintaining corrosion resistance and durability to industrial and marine rigging applications.
The newly added swivels help to eliminate twists in chain and wire or fibrous rope during lifting and rigging applications. Sizes range from 3/16” to 5/8” and they are made from grade 316 stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance and durability. They can also support loads up to 5,200 lbs. and feature multiple configuration, including jaw/eye (S0155-FS series), eye/eye (S0128-FS series), chain/eye (S0128-FX series) and jaw/jaw (S0156-FS series) to fit every applications. These products are positioning devices and are not intended to swivel or rotate under load.
Patrick Striebel, president of Suncor Stainless, has commented, “Currently there are no swivels featuring the strength offered by a forging process with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. We felt as though we could provide closure to this gap in the market by manufacturing a line of stainless steel forged swivels in accordance with Fed. Specs.”
