Suez to manage drinking water facility in Rhode Island

SUEZ has been contracted to operate and maintain a new drinking water facility at Woonsocket city in Rhode Island, US, for 20 years. This project is part of the Woonsocket municipality’s plan to improve water quality.

Works related to planning and guidance as well as the design and engineering of the project will be carried out by AECOM Technical Services, while construction work of the project will be undertaken by C.H. Nickerson &Company under the Design, Build and Operate (DBO) contract.
Following construction, Suez will operate the new water treatment plant and a raw water pump station for an amount of $53m.

The firms will work with the City’s Department of Public Works, which is responsible for overseeing the water treatment services for residents.

Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt commented, “This new water treatment facility has been a long time coming for the City. We are eager to break ground on a brand new plant that will produce the highest quality of water that our customers expect.”

This project will allow Woonsocket city to optimise the facility efficiently and enhance its service for the residents.

Suez provides water and wastewater management services to 7.3 inhabitants daily across North America.
