US-based Arcos Industries LLC now offers a new stainless steel, bare wire electrode, Arcos 308LSi, which is designed for general purpose GMAW and GTAW welding. The Arcos 308LSi bare wire electrode (ER308LSi) features a higher silicon content, which delivers smooth bead appearance and good wetting action. It affords good resistance to general corrosion and intergranular corrosion. Arcos 308LSi is utilized for welding 301, 302, 304, 304L, 308 and 308L stainless steels. It may also be used to weld Type 347 for service temperatures up to 600 degrees F. Arcos 308LSi bare wire electrodes are available in diameters from .035in- 3/16in. This electrode provides a smooth fillet profile for many applications including nuclear power, automotive, pharmaceutical and food service.
