Ensitech, the global developer and manufacturer of the TIG Brush, the fastest and safest way to clean and passivate stainless steel welds, has announced its sponsorship of Art for Architecture (A4A) on the creation of its new large-scale public sculpture. As part of the sponsorship, A4AÂ’s Director of Sculpture, John McKenna, and his team relied exclusively on EnsitechÂ’s TIG Brush to clean and passivate the thousands of pieces of welded stainless steel required to complete the lasting tribute to the shipbuilders of Glasgow. The expected installation date will be late October/early November 2020.
John McKenna and A4A was the proud winner of the Port Glasgow Sculpture competition. Titled, “Shipbuilders of Port Glasgow,” the sculpture features two 30-feet high stainless steel shipbuilding figures at work on a ship’s hull.
