Stainless steel production results for 2013 third quart

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released their preliminary figures for the global stainless crude production in the third quarter of 2013.
 
Results showed that stainless steel production increased 5.5 percent during the first nine months of 2013. During these first nine months, production totalled 29 million metric tons (mmt), which was up 1.4 mmt from the same period in 2012.
 

Specifically for the third quarter of 2013, production was at 9.3 mmt, a new all-time third quarter high. In both North and South America, the first three quarters of 2013 were stable at 1.8 mmt compared to 2012 during the same period.
