Stainless steel overbraided PTFE hose

AdvantaPure, a manufacturer of high tubing and hoses, is now offering stainless steel overbraided PTFE hose in four different styles. The hose or APFOS, gives the purity of PTFE fluoropolymer along with the durability and enhanced pressure carrying capabilities of stainless steel.

APFOS is often used in high-purity industries for critical fluid lines such as pharmaceutical batch, media and buffer transfer and chemical lines. The four different models include smooth core, convoluted core, silicone-jacketed smooth core and silicone jacketed convoluted core depending on the application. The smooth core options offer larger inside diameters than traditional nominal hose and provide the maximum amount of flow during fluid transfer. The convoluted core styles offer more hose flexibility and are less susceptible to cracking when compared to other metals.

Both the smooth and convoluted types come with a layer of platinum-cured silicone over the stainless steel braid, which causes the silicone to supply heat protection while also providing a wipe-clean smooth exterior to eliminate particle entrapment with the braid wires. The overbraid is made of 304 stainless steel wire, which permits higher pressure uses, improved flexibility, reduced kinking and core protection.
