Stainless steel enclosures for hazardous locations

Meltric, the industrial plug and receptacle manufacturer, has introduced its Technor SB Series 316 Stainless Steel Enclosures developed especially for use in hazardous conditions. The IP-66/67 rated enclosure meets UL, ATEX and IECEx standards for use in explosive environments.

The enclosure’s stainless steel surfaces have been acid-treated to withstand corrosion. They are rated for use in environments with ambient temperatures ranging from -50°C to +60°C (ATEX), -50°C to +95°C (IECEx) and 40°C to +40°C (UL). They can be ordered empty or as a complete customized control panel per customer specifications. Over twenty standard sizes are available.
The enclosures are ideal for use in hazardous locations such as oil & gas, chemical, agricultural, energy, transportation, pharmaceutical and mining facilities where fire or explosion hazards may exist due to flammable gases, flammable liquid–produced vapors, combustible liquid–produced vapors and combustible dusts.

Numerous options are available, including with/without hinges and doors, side gland plates, breather drains, viewing windows, ground studs, internal mounting plates, traffolyte or stainless steel tag & certification labels and alternate material thicknesses.
