Siemens commissions power plant in Peru

After only 19 months of construction, Siemens Energy has commissioned the Santo Domingo de los Olleros turnkey power plant located in the Chilca district of Peru to Termochilca SAC. Siemens has stated that it will continue to service the plant according to a long-term service agreement.

The facility will start service in a simple cycle mode with an option in the next phase for a combined cycle plant. Up until now, Siemens has been responsible for full turnkey supply of the plant such as engineering, procurement and construction. Siemens is also the supplier of the equipment including a SGT6-5000F gas turbine, a model SGEN6-1000A generator, the entire electrical as well as SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and control equipment.

“Siemens has been a leading provider of efficient and environmentally friendly gas-fired power generation in Peru for several years,” said Martin Tartibi, Head of Gas Turbine Power Plant Solutions Americas in Siemens Power Generation Division. “The Santo Domingo de los Olleros project is yet another example of our long term focus on Peru and commitment to support the growing power needs of the country.”
