Lincoln Electric employees Richard J. Seif and David Fink have been elected to the 2010 Class of Counselors of the American Welding Society (AWS). AWS Counselor’s are elected in recognition of a career of notable organizational leadership that has benefited the image of welding. The gentlemen were honored at the 2010 FABTECH/AWS exposition in Atlanta, Georgia and inducted during the AWS Annual Business meeting November 1, 2010. As the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Development, Seif has spent more than 39 years in the arc welding industry and is also a life member of the AWS. He has served AWS in many capacities including Section Chairman in Michigan and National Committee Chairman of conventions and expositions. He was elected to the Board of Trustees of the AWS in 2002 and played a significant role in implementing many welding education programs and initiatives to promote careers in welding. As Manager of Compliance Engineering for Lincoln Electric, Fink received the International Institute of Welding’s (IIW) Thomas Medal for his contribution to the IIW and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). For 40 years, he has worked in the welding industry, remaining active with AWS technical committees for 35 years. Currently, Fink serves as the chair of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for ISO/TC 44/SC 3, Welding Consumables.
