Schlumberger agrees to sell Wilson International

Schlumberger Limited has entered into an agreement to sell its Wilson distribution business with National Oilwell Varco Inc. As part of the acquisition of Smith International in 2010, Schlumberger acquired Wilson International Inc., a distributor of pipe, valves and fittings as well as mill, tool and safety products and services founded in 1921.

The company manages a distribution business with about 200 operations and sales locations across the United States and its presence is growing in other key international markets. As a standalone Schlumberger business unit, Wilson currently employs about 2,500 employees.

Schlumberger Chief Executive Officer, Paal Kibsgaard said that “Schlumberger’s global supply chain has benefited from Wilson’s best-in-class distribution practices and we look forward to working with Wilson in the future.”
