Sandvik Osprey to supply to Desktop Metal

Sandvik Osprey Ltd, a leading producer of gas atomized metal powders for advanced applications in net-shape manufacturing, has announced that it has formed a relationship with Massachusetts-based Desktop Metal to be a preferred supplier of a range of its alloy powders for its recently-released 3D printing systems, the DM Studio™ and DM Production™ systems.

Sandvik Osprey has a production capacity of over 4.5 million kg (10 million lbs.) and a product database exceeding 3000 alloys. The company offers a range of products from stainless steels to nickel base super alloys, cobalt alloys, tool steels, low alloy steels, copper and aluminium alloys and is able also to customize materials according to customer preferences.
