Sandmeyer appoints two new VP’s

Sandmeyer Steel Company (Sandmeyer) has appointed John M. Curley, III, as the Vice President of International Sales and Global Marketing, a newly created position in the company. In his new role he will oversee the development of business outside of the United States, a quickly expanding market for Sandmeyer. Since 1985, Curley has been a part of the Sandmeyer team, first as an Inside Sales Representative and then as District Sales Manager for the New England territory. In 1993 he became a part of the Company’s management team as Manager of Inside Sales and then General Manager of Sales and Marketing. A Boston native, Curley has a long family heritage in the stainless steel plate industry as his grandfather, John M. Curley, Sr., founded the former Eastern Stainless Steel in Baltimore in 1943. His father, John M. Curley, Jr., served as Eastern’s president for numerous years. Shawn F. Fenerty has been appointed Vice President of National Sales, also a newly created position at Sandmeyer. He will be responsible for overseeing both the inside and field sales teams in the United States. Fenerty joined the company at the age of 18 as the office messenger and quickly worked his way up through a number of positions within the sales department, including Inside Sales Representative. He spent seven years in California as District Sales Manager of the Company’s West territory.  His most recent position was as Regional Sales Manager, responsible for the Midatlantic East, Southwest, and West territories.
