Kadant Johnson, a subsidiary of Kadant, globally released its TorqueSafe drive coupling designed for quickly and safely connecting and disconnecting rotary unions from fluid transfer lines without the use of tools.
The patent-pending quick-connect coupling is designed for steam and other fluids and is rated for up to 27Nm of torque with operating pressures up to 10bar and temperatures up to 191°C. The TorqueSafe coupling features a full-flow passage and incorporates a locking mechanism to ensure safe connections are made. In addition, the stainless steel construction offers corrosion-resistance and features one-hand disengagement.
The TorqueSafe coupling is designed for use in a variety of applications where rapid removal and installation of rotating unions are required in fluid transfer lines, including those used to produce fiberglass reinforced composite structures and products. Connection sizes range from 3/8” to 1-1/2”.
Kadant Johnson is a provider of rotary sealing devices, precision unions and steam handling systems to process industries. The company’s systems division specialises in the engineering, design, and supply of steam systems, controls, and related equipment used to manage steam and condensate flow.
