Possible anti-dumping duty on Vietnam imports

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has reached an initial conclusion regarding the welded stainless steel pressure pipes exported from Vietnam.

Early reports state that DOC has deemed these products as being dumped in the US market, making it more difficult for American stainless steel manufacturers.

The final decision regarding this case is scheduled for official release on May 17th, 2014, but industry insiders believe there is no way for Vietnamese producers to export steel pipes in the US amidst these additional charges. Especially since the DOC has already levied duties on companies in Malaysia and Thailand that specialize in stainless steel pressure pipes.
