Porvair acquires Eisenmann Metallurgical

The specialist filtration and separations company, Porvair Filtration Group, has acquired Eisenmann Metallurgical LLC (which is trading as Chand Eisenmann Metallurgical [CEM]).

CEM designs and manufactures specialty filters and flow restrictors at its Caribou, Maine facility. This acquisition will help position Porvair as the leader in sintered porous metal manufacturing and is a good fit between Porvair’s and CEM’s existing sintered porous metal filter product portfolio.
Now that both businesses have been combined, the companies are well positioned to offer customers the world over a wide range of sintered porous metals made from stainless steel, bronze, titanium, nickel and other high temperature and corrosion resistant nickel alloys.

Applications for these products vary greatly but can include chromatography column frits (the main filter used in liquid chromatographic systems), gas diffusers, sensor protectors, flow restrictors as well as flame arrestors (items that stop fuel combustion by extinguishing the flame) to industrial processes such as catalyst retention, gas spargers (used to introduce gas into a liquid) and filters.
