Plaintree purchases Spotton Corp.

Plaintree Systems is a diverse company with proprietary technology and manufacturing capabilities in structural design, aerospace and telecommunications. The company’s product line of specialty structures includes the former Triodetic Group, a designer and builder of aluminum and stainless steel structures.

Plaintree has just signed an agreement to purchase the Ontario-based Spotton Corporation. Spotton is a designer and manufacturer of high-end custom hydraulic and pneumatic valves and cylinders for the industrial and oil and gas markets. Spotton currently works out of Plaintree’s Arnprior, Ontario location and now the purchase is final no changes will be made.

“This is a timely acquisition for Plaintree,” said David Watson, Plaintree CEO, “since 2011 Spotton has increased its sales by over 200 percent and the potential is there for continued strong growth.”
