Paolo Rocca wins steelmaker of the year award

Paolo Rocca, CEO of the Techint Group and chairman of its Tenaris and Ternium steel manufacturing operations, will be named “Steelmaker of the Year” at AISTech 2011. Taking place 2-5 May 2011, The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition, managed by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) will showcase over 400 papers on iron and steel technology. The Conference will feature technical sessions, as well as many keynote presentations by today’s business leaders. The Steelmaker of the Year Award is presented every year by AIST to show appreciation for notable leaders and their contributions to the steel industry. A dynamic and diverse leader, Rocca is being recognized for his role in the manufacturing of steel, particularly for the production of quality pipe and tube that has helped support the world’s energy infrastructure. The AIST Steelmaker of the Year Award will be presented to Rocca on 3 May during the President’s Award Breakfast, one of the signature events of AISTech 2011.
